Leadership Project
Sarasota Early Learning Leadership Collaborative.
A case study of a proposed collaborative for the people who lead early learning: college coursework, practical leadership support, and a professional community for Sarasota County directors and certificate students in one place.
Status — Current Active Visual Mock-Up
This is a current, active visual mock-up. It is a working model built for discussion and planning — it is still being revised as stakeholders review it, and pieces of it will change. Independent portfolio sample. Not an official institutional resource, approved college product, or finalized implementation model.
Short case study
Problem
Directors leading early learning centers in Sarasota County had nowhere to bring a real decision. College coursework, practical leadership support, funding questions, and peer advice all lived apart — and students working toward the certificate never met the people already running centers.
Solution
A proposed collaborative built around four things held together: Support, Learn, Apply, Lead. Peer case clinics, twelve credits of management coursework, companion planning aimed at the director's own center, and a printable leadership brief they could take to a board, owner, or funder.
Audience
Two ways in: directors who lead a center and want peers plus a private leadership blueprint, and students mapping the Child Care Center Management route who want to learn alongside working directors.
Skills Shown
Program and pathway design, curriculum alignment to a real course catalog, community and cohort structure, cost and funding planning, AI-assisted prototyping, and stakeholder communication.
See it working
Support. Learn. Apply. Lead.
The interactive collaborative prototype is built and fully navigable. Directors can explore the peer route, students can explore the certificate route, and both pathways demonstrate how case clinics, a shared practice library, twelve credits of management coursework, cost planning, and a private center studio could work together.

Four things held together
Support
Case clinics where a director posts a real situation and colleagues return one question, one approach, and one tradeoff — plus facilitators and a shared practice library.
Learn & Apply
Four actual SCF courses in the Child Care Center Management specialization, with companion planning work aimed at the director's own center rather than a hypothetical one.
Lead
Every cycle ends in something written: a next action saved to a private plan and a printable leadership brief for a board, owner, or funder.
The academic core
Child Care Center Management [3038]
Twelve undergraduate credits: Early Child Care Center Management, Program Development in Early Childhood, Organizational Leadership Management, and Legal and Financial Issues in Child Care.
Who it serves
Directors and students, together
Center directors across Sarasota County bringing one real decision at a time, alongside students mapping the certificate route and the coursework they already hold.
What participants could leave with
Something written, every cycle
One next action saved to a private center plan, adapted templates from the shared practice library, a cost scenario, and a printable leadership brief for a board, owner, or funder.
