1:1 Educational App Design Coaching

Build Your Education App

Learn to build it with me—or have me build the prototype for you.

You do not need to be a programmer to create a useful educational tool. I help educators, faculty, instructional designers, researchers, school leaders, homeschool creators, and education entrepreneurs move from “I wish this existed” to a working prototype.

We start with the educational problem—not the technology.

Request an App Session

Evening and weekend appointments available.

Coaching is paid in advance. Nicole will confirm your request and send the agreement and payment instructions before your session.

Experience behind the work

I combine more than 20 years in education with hands-on experience designing and launching educational technology. The same problem-first process behind CivicPass Prep, Word Adventures USA, The Storybook Coach, and Journal Spark guides this work.

Client Workflow

What happens after you request a session.

  1. 01

    Request & confirm

Send your request through the contact page. Nicole replies personally to confirm fit and a time — the website itself does not schedule or charge anything.

  2. 02

    Agreement & payment

Nicole sends the tailored agreement and payment instructions directly. Coaching is paid in advance of the session. Done-for-you projects begin after a signed agreement, a project-specific Statement of Work, and a 50% project initiation payment.

  3. 03

    Discovery & intake

A short intake is completed before the session or kickoff, so paid time is spent on decisions and building.

  4. 04

    Session or build work

Coaching sessions meet via Google Meet. Done-for-you work is created against the agreed Statement of Work.

  5. 05

    Review & revision

Done-for-you projects include one defined revision round. Scope changes and enhancements are quoted separately.

  6. 06

    Handoff & next steps

The remaining 50% is due before final handoff. You receive the working prototype, basic documentation, and a walkthrough. Post-handoff support is 14 calendar days for correction of agreed-scope defects; it does not cover new features.

Preparing for a session or project? See the client preparation page for the full step-by-step and what to bring.

Clear Boundaries

  • Coaching does not include unlimited between-session consulting or ongoing maintenance.
  • Done-for-you pricing does not automatically include hosting, paid APIs, platform fees, complex integrations, ongoing maintenance, legal or privacy compliance certification, or enterprise IT deployment.
  • Scope changes and enhancements outside the agreed Statement of Work are quoted separately.
  • Please use fictional or de-identified sample data in prototypes. Real student records and other regulated personal information require a separate written data-handling arrangement.
  • Many done-for-you deliverables are functional prototypes. Production hardening or enterprise deployment may require additional work.

A Clear Working Relationship

Collaborative support, with a defined scope.

Coaching is collaborative design and build support—not unlimited custom software development or done-for-you engineering. You remain responsible for your product, accounts, content, testing, and platform costs. If you prefer Nicole to create the first version, the done-for-you prototype service provides a separate, scoped path.

Coaching is paid in advance; Nicole confirms your request and sends the agreement and payment instructions before your session. Done-for-you projects use a 50% project initiation payment and 50% before final handoff, with 14 calendar days of post-handoff support for agreed-scope defects. Your signed agreement and Statement of Work govern your project.

Appointments are generally offered Tuesday and Thursday, 6:30–9:00 PM, and Saturday, 9:00 AM–2:00 PM, America/New_York, subject to actual availability.
